pictures of the park and our first wild life experience here

Here Anna and Aletta are riding their bikes at the park that is a block away from our house.

Here are Anna and Aletta picking up little plastic colored bbs. This is one of their favorite things to do at the park. Aletta loves to put them in her pockets and whatever else she can find to put them in. Lillian is really into balls right now. Here she is actually kicking and chasing a basketball that we have.

I tried to load a video of the park a couple of times but for whatever reason I can't seem to load videos right now. So here is a few pictures. They have a full basketball court that is often used for soccer when the other soccer court is being used. There is also a full size soccer field that is only used for games on various days of the week. The slide is the one the girls go down all the time. They also try to do the monkey bars with some help. All three of them love to swing, especially Anna who can swing all by her self.

Here is the slide that is very high and very scary to see your two year old climbing up when you are looking at the other girls. Lillian has only gone down once but has climbed up probably 10 times. She doesn't like how high it is, Aletta as well (I don't let them go up by themselves) I am right under them the whole time. Anna only recently started going down it by herself.

BEWARE!! Dead animal picture posted here. Ok here is the scoop. I went out to start our water heater because we don't have it on all the time. I open the little door to light it and there is was an animal looking at me. It scurried into a part of the heater that has a couple of holes (picture #1). Well after this discovery I told Jess to come and bring me a flashlight. It was the first real encounter with a real live rat in my home. It was in the back patio but still in the area of our house. So he ran past me and went under the washing machine. I sprayed water with a hose all over the place to get him to come out. He came out once but went back under after he ran across my foot and I screamed. So I ended up moving the whole washing machine around so I could spray it some more. It did run out back to where the heater was with some of our storage things. I was able to pin him down and hit him with a stick. This was my first time killing something that size. I must say it was an interesting experience. Jessie has also said that this is the first of many encounters because we live here in Mexico. We think he climbed down the wall because all our drains were covered in the back. These pictures are before and after.
